Camichael’s Pumpkin Patch to open Saturday for the 2022 season

BIXBY, Okla. — Bixby’s own Carmichael’s Pumpkin Patch near 171st and Mingo is set to open Saturday, Sept. 24, for the 2022 season.

The pumpkin patch will be open each week from Monday to Saturday between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.

The last day of their annual season will be Oct. 31, 2022.

Owner Don Carmichael told FOX23 he expects hundreds of people to attend during their opening weekend.

Crews at Carmichael’s have been busy displaying 25 truckloads of pumpkins as they prepare to open.

Carmichael said it’s important to him that people enjoy fall festivities without breaking the bank.

“You just come in, ride the pony, do what they want to and not be costing an arm and a leg,” he said.

Children can climb on pumpkin mounds, take a ride on the wagon, explore the cane maze and meet all kinds of animals including camels, piglets, goats and cows.

“There’s nothing that kind of catches me more than watching one of these little kids pet a goat or pet a pig or something that they’ve never been able to do before,” Carmichael said.

Freddie’s Hamburgers will be on site to serve food as well.

The Carmichaels also serve homemade fudge and peanut brittle.

Carmichael said he’s focused on creating experiences for families to enjoy every harvest year.
