EPISODE 1: Claud's Hamburgers in Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. — Quick Facts:

The Burger Brothers made their first stop in Tulsa at Claud's Hamburgers at 38th and Peoria.

The restaurant originally opened in 1954 on Admiral just west of Sheridan, but made the move to midtown over the years.

Robert Hobson, son of original owner Claud, now runs the restaurant in its 64th year in business.

Originally located on Admiral just west of Sheridan, Claud's moved to its current location in 1965, when Robert was four months old. Hobson said his father worked with Van's Hamburgers owner to arrange a takeover of the location that included payments to Van's widow after his passing.

Hobson said most people order a double cheeseburger, but they'll pretty much make whatever you want. He's proud that Claud's remains the same as things around Brookside keep changing.

"This is a dying breed, this type of burger place you don't see around anymore... I'm going to try to keep them open," he said.

Loved by Tulsans and celebrities alike Hobson said the biggest star he's served was George Harrison who stopped by with friends Eric Clapton and Tulsa native Leon Russell.

Claud's is closed Sundays and Mondays. Grab a burger Tuesday-Saturday, they open at 10:30 a.m.
