Mike Rowe announces trip to Green Country, will film new television series

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — Mike Rowe is coming to Green Country.

Principal photography has begun for the third season of “The Story Behind the Story,” based on Rowe’s popular podcast. The former “Dirty Jobs” host covers interesting topics like history, pop culture, and Hollywood secrets. Each episode covers a story about a real person or place.

Production begins in Bartlesville this week.

“We are extremely excited to be back shooting in Oklahoma.” said producer Micah Barnard. “It’s especially great knowing we can make a positive impact on the local economy by basing our production in Tulsa, Oklahoma City and the surrounding communities.”

Multiple television shows and movies have filmed in Green Country recently, including Paramount+’s “Tulsa King,” Hulu’s “Reservation Dogs,” and “Killers of the Flower Moon.”

“The Story Behind the Story” airs every Saturday night at 7 p.m. on TBN.
