South Tulsa Ida Red location reopens after car crashes through building

TULSA, Okla. — The Ida Red store in south Tulsa near 91st and Yale reopened less than 48 hours after a car smashed through the store front Monday.

Employee Norma Gramm told FOX23 two employees were inside the store when the crash happened Monday morning. She said one woman was pushed by the car across the store and sent to the hospital, but both are okay.

The store front is now temporarily patched up, and Gramm said they were able to reopen after their building was deemed structurally sound.

Once you walk past the entryway damage and some tire marks, the rest of the store looks normal.

Since the crash, people in our community have offered to lend a hand with clean up or start a GoFundMe. People were also eager to come shop upon the store’s reopening.

These kind gestures brought Gramm to tears. “It was such an outpouring of love from the community that everybody wanted to help, wanted to come out and take care of Ida Red,” she said.

The store lost some merchandise in the crash and isn’t currently selling any clothing that may have been damaged.

The store will be open for Black Friday and Small Business Saturday and hopes customers continue to come out and shop.
