North Tulsa nonprofit asks for community support during holiday season

TULSA, Okla. — A north Tulsa nonprofit organization is asking the community for help to provide mothers and children a special holiday season.

Lindsey House helps women with children avoid homelessness and gain financial independence. Women and children live at Lindsey House for 12-18 months and learn job skills, budgeting, parenting skills and more.

Right now the nonprofit is asking people to participate in their Holiday Heroes campaign to help make the holidays bright for kids.

Each mother and child submits a wish list including two “needs” and one “want”. The nonprofit asks you to “adopt” a mother or child, then drop off the new and unwrapped items at the Lindsey House office, near East Pine Street and North Peoria Avenue, between Dec. 12 and Dec. 16.

You can also make an online donation to Lindsey House here. Now through Dec. 31, donations from new or increased donors are being matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $15 thousand, by the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation.
