Oklahomans encouraged to apply, become Oscar Mayer’s next hotdogger

TULSA, Okla. — Oscar Mayer is looking for new hotdoggers to drive their famous Wienermobile.

Only one previous driver has been from Oklahoma in the past two decades.

Two hotdoggers spoke with FOX23 as they wrapped up their year long contracts by taking a “coast to coast weenie roast,” traveling from city to city in the Wienermobile.

“Jumbo Dog Jacob” and “Sauerkraut Kat” said they have spent the past year visiting more than 20 cities.

“We have a lot to relish with this opportunity,” said Kat. “It feels like we are pretty luck dogs to be here.”

The hotdoggers said they have witness people crying and screaming when they see the Wienermobile drive by, excited from the joy it brings to whatever city it’s visiting.

Despite the “bun and buns of fun” the two doggers have had touring the U.S., they are now searching for some “franktastic” replacements.

Becoming a hotdogger isn’t easy. Less than one percent of applicants were hired last year.

Don’t be discouraged, though, thinking the “wurst.”

Let me be “frank,” Oklahoma is due for a proud resident to take on the position.

“I actually had a great experience in Tulsa, Oklahoma earlier this year,” Jacob said.

“The Wienermobile loves the sooner state,” Kat added.
