Reservation Dogs captivates critics and the mainstream audience as best show in 2022

FX on Hulu’s Reservation Dogs has been ranked the number one best show of 2022 by both the New York Times and Rolling Stone.

The storyline centers around four Indigenous teens from rural Oklahoma, navigating through their very raw and purely humorous adventures in their lives.

Creators Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi have produced a series that is clearly resonating with mainstream media and a wider audience.

“This was by far the best thing on TV in 2022. In its second season, this series from Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi became weirder, funnier and more heartbreaking, as its Indigenous teens tried to grapple with loss and hang on to hope — or, if necessary, steal it,” the New York Times critic James Poniewozik wrote.

Fans have described the show, as “original,” “deep,” “real,” “incredible,” and “a masterpiece.”

The four lead actors were virtually unknown when Reservation Dogs first premiered on Aug. 9, 2021.

The Critic’s Choice Awards have recently recognized the cast and crew with four nominations. D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai who plays Bear Smallhill is nominated for Best Actor in a Comedy. Devery Jacobs portrays Elora Danan Postoak, and has a nomination in the Best Actress Comedy category. Paulina Alexis has been nominated in the Supporting Actress in a Comedy category, and she plays the character Willie Jack. Reservation Dogs has also been nominated for Best Comedy Series.
