Stabbings outside Halloween party in quiet gated community upset Sapulpa neighborhood

SAPULPA, Okla. — Sapulpa police are asking for the public’s help in locating the person responsible for stabbing three young men outside a Halloween party at a home near S 33rd W Ave and W 81st St S early Sunday morning.

Sapulpa Police initially said Sunday morning that two people had been stabbed at the party. Monday, Sapulpa Police Captain Mike Sole said two of the three men were taken to the hospital in critical condition. They had to undergo surgery but are expected to survive their injuries. Their conditions have now been upgraded to serious.

The Oak Leaf Estates is a gated community, but FOX23 was allowed in briefly Monday morning by a neighbor. FOX23 found the large home near where police said the stabbings took place.

A neighbor was upset to hear that the young men, believed to be in their early to mid 20′s, being injured outside the Halloween party that police say numbered between 100 and 200 people and involved alcohol.

The Oakleaf Estates are normally a tranquil neighborhood, according to a neighbor we spoke with outside the quiet gated community Monday morning.

However, Sapulpa police say some type of altercation broke out outside of the large Halloween Party at the home in the early morning hours on Sunday, Oct. 30.

The 911 call came in around 4 a.m. according to police.

“They found a individual in the driveway who had been stabbed multiple times,” explained Sole.

According to Sole, another stabbing victim, who was involved in the altercation, was driven from the party to the parking lot of the Target located in Tulsa Hills, where someone called for an ambulance to take him to the hospital.

Sole said the parking lot was used to shuttle party goers back and forth to the home where the party was being held, which is a distance of 2.6 miles from the Oakleaf Estates.

“Both of these individuals were stabbed multiple times, and they were in critical condition,” Sole said, “they both had to undergo surgery to fix the wounds that they had, the injuries.”

Sole said later that morning they discovered that a third individual had been stabbed, he was treated and released. He said they have recovered the weapon, a large pocket knife. At this time he said they are looking for one suspect.

A neighbor who lives near the home where the Halloween party took place said she’s never had any issues with her neighbor in the past, and she hopes the suspect is caught:

“In my opinion it got out of hand,” she said, “and of course anything horrible like that happens that’s never the intent, never so I want to give him the benefit of the doubt.”

“It’s a horrible, horrible thing that happened to these families,” she said, “so we just wish the best for them, the victims, and I hope they figure out who did it.”

Sapulpa police are asking anyone who may have videotape of the incident to contact them. The number you can call is 918-224-3862 .

FOX23 called the Creek County Assessor’s Office to try and find out who owns the home where the large party was held, it’s listed as being owned by Oak Leaf Estates, LLC.

Sole said the individual who hosted the party is not considered a suspect in the case.
