OU hires Jones as WR coach/passing game coordinator

The OU football team has a new wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator. Announced Tuesday, it’s Emmett Jones from Texas Tech.

Jones had the same job title for the Red Raiders this season and Kansas before that.

Jones will replace L’Damian Washington on the staff. Washington was an offensive analyst who was named interim wide receivers coach for OU after Cale Gundy resigned during fall camp. Sooner head coach Brent Venables said in a statement that the Sooners are trying to keep Washington on staff in an “enhanced role.”
