Stoops anticipates new OU coach this weekend, says somebody was talking to USC for Riley

An update on the OU football head coaching search came Thursday from YouTube.

In a 17-minute interview uploaded to the Coach Bob Stoops YouTube channel, Stoops said he anticipates OU naming a coach “this weekend sometime, latest maybe Monday.”

Stoops was also asked in the one-on-one interview if he believes what Lincoln Riley said -- that he didn’t talk to USC until Sunday morning. Here’s how Stoops answered:

“If he wasn’t talking to them, his agent was, somebody was. You don’t work out all those fine details in an hour or two. So he can say what he needs to say, and it isn’t for me to, you know, I’m not gonna be one to be out here broadcasting whether I believe it or not.”
