Black Wall Street 100 donated more than 100 bikes to Tulsa children

TULSA, Okla. — Dozens of families were thankful Thursday after a local organization donated more than 100 bikes to Tulsa children in Greenwood.

The Bike Giveaway was organized by Black Wall Street 100, and McNellies, Bluecross Blueshield and Tulsa Remote were sponsors of the event.

Black Wall Street 100 organizer Dwight Eaton told FOX23 the goal of the giveaway is to promote health in the north Tulsa community.

Each child that received a bike was signed up prior to the event. Families were able to sign their children up on the Black Wall Street 100 website.

“I’m very thankful, getting a new bike,” said one child, Jaun Lamaus. “[I’m] hopeful I get to learn tricks.”

Another child, Skye, told FOX23 she was excited to explore on her new bike.

“[I’m] very excited [to] ride one of these bikes on a trail,” Skye said.

Eaton said that the event is closed this year, but the organization hopes to do this again in the future.
