Friends, family gathered to lay two victims of the Okmulgee quadruple homicides to rest

OKMULGEE, Okla. — Mark and Billy Chastain were both fathers, brothers, and sons. They were loved by so many.

Mark was 32 and Billy was 30 years old when their lives were taken tragically. The brothers and two friends disappeared on Oct. 9. Five days later, on Oct. 14 their dismembered remains were discovered in Deep Fork River.

On Oct. 27, friends and family laid Mark and Billy to rest at Refugee Church in Okmulgee. The church is just a stone’s throw away from the home of Billy’s dad, where the men were last seen alive.

Mark’s wife, Jessica Chastain says this has been a very long month for all the families involved and she’s taking today like every other day, one step at a time.

“So now we have to continue our life without them and that’s not fair. Not only did they take Mark, they took the kids’ uncle BJ. and BJ has kids of his own as well. They just corrupted all four lives of multiple people,” expressed Chastain.

The family has set up a Gofundme to help the family move forward during this difficult time.

Michael Sparks, another of the four victims, will be laid to rest on Oct. 29.
