Campaign to spread positivity, love for Oklahoma returns

TULSA, Okla. — A social media campaign created to spread positivity through love for Oklahoma is making a return.

Oklahoma native Evan Taylor first created Huglahoma about 10 years ago with about 300 people. While the campaign took a hiatus, Taylor is now in the middle of a relaunch and wants you to join!

To become a part of Huglahoma, you meet up with Evan, write down your favorite thing about Oklahoma, sign his Oklahoma cut-out, snap a pic hugging it, then he posts it on the campaign’s Facebook page alongside your quote for all to see.

“I don’t care if people are Democrat, Republican, Independent, Libertarian, I don’t care who people are, I just want them to love where we’re at and that will hopefully create positive change moving forward in all of our lives in Oklahoma.”

Magnolia Soap and Bath Co.’s Scottie Lawrence was one of the first signatures gathered for the relaunch. She was a part of the first campaign and couldn’t wait to join the second

“This is a way of saying we’re all from Oklahoma, we’re all together, we’re all the same, we’re all humans, we should all love each other and embrace our differences and our similarities,” said Lawrence.
