New Life Ranch Summer Camp to lift COVID restrictions for 2022

DELAWARE COUNTY, Okla. — For the first time in two years, New Life Ranch is offering summer camp free of COVID restrictions.

Frontier Cove’s main street will soon be filled with second through sixth graders, starting June 5, the first week of camp.

Tom Graney, CEO of New Life Ranch said they were excited to put the past two summers behind them.

“We are really excited about the past two summers being behind us and being able to move forward with a more normal schedule.”

To adapt to COVID, the camp performed health screenings and temperature checks. They also split campers into small groups and built handwashing stations.

“We are thrilled to be able to get back to a more normal schedule with larger groups of campers together for chapel for eating together just activities,” Tom said.

Jill Donovan said her child has been going since second grade and has gone almost every summer since.

“It gives her a whole new perspective on people that come from different places outside of Tulsa.”

2019 was a record year for the camp, with close to 5,000 campers over the course of the summer.

In 2020, COVID cut those numbers down and they were down to 3,100 campers.

But only six tested positive for COVID.

In 2021, New Life had to cancel their first two weeks due to a COVID outbreak, yet they still saw more than 4,500 campers that summer.

Tom said he doesn’t want finances to stop a kid from coming to New Life Ranch.

“In 2021 we gave over a half million dollars away in camper scholarships, don’t be scared or allow the price to hinder you, we want to partner and we have people partner with us to help send a kid to camp.”

Almost four years ago, New Life bought the old dry gulch site in Adair and turned it into Frontier Cove.

But their expansion plans haven’t stopped there.

New Life has recent bought property in Central Arkansas, and they intend to turn it into another large camp.
